Schauer Out-Raises Incumbent Walberg for Fifth Straight Quarter
SCHAUER OUT-RAISES INCUMBENT WALBERG FOR FIFTH STRAIGHT QUARTER
Congressional challenger building momentum with 20 days left before Election Day
BATTLE CREEK— Today Mark Schauer (D-Battle Creek) announced that his Congressional campaign raised more than $458,000 in the third quarter, which breaks the previous fundraising record he set in July for the most money raised by a Democrat in the 7th district.
“Michigan families are hurting because of George Bush and Tim Walberg’s failed economic policies, and our state can’t afford two more years of bad trade deals and Wall Street deregulation,” said Schauer. “We still expect this to be a close election, and today’s news means we will have the resources we need to spread our message of change and get out the vote on Election Day.”
Combined with the last quarter when he outraised his incumbent opponent, Schauer has now brought in more than $1.78 million and had more than $856,000 cash on hand as of September 30.
“The attacks from Congressman Walberg, the NRCC and Club for Growth will grow increasingly desperate and silly between now and November 4,” said campaign manager B.J. Neidhardt. “But thanks to the strong support we’ve received from our network of grassroots supporters, we’ll be able to respond to Walberg’s smears and keep building momentum over the next 20 days.”
